Raymond "Doobie" Hatle, 78, of Waubay passed away Monday July 6, 2020 at Sanford Hospital in Webster.
Funeral Services will be at Fiksdal Funeral Chapel in Webster, SD at 11:00 AM on July 10, 2020. Pastor Mike McCarlson will officiate. Military Interment will be at Lakewood Cemetery in Waubay, SD. Social distancing guidelines will be followed.
Visitation will be 1 hour prior to services.
Raymond Dean Hatle was born on August 13, 1941 to John and Ida (Nerison) Hatle in Webster, South Dakota. He attended school in Waubay and Webster and later obtained his GED. He enlisted in the Army in 1962 and was stationed in Germany before he was honorably discharged in 1965. He was united in marriage to Belva Robertson in 1972 at Wheaton, Minnesota. The couple made their home in Waubay. In the early 1970’s he joined the South Dakota National Guard and was a member of the Webster unit. Raymond worked for the Day County Highway Department and retired in 2001. Belva passed away in 2017. Ray continued to live in Waubay. He enjoyed driving around Waubay and having coffee with his buddies at H & R One Stop.
Raymond passed away on July 6, 2020 at the age of 78 years 10 months and 24 days.
He is survived by his two sisters, Shirley (Harold) Mack of Watertown, SD and Linda Clutter of Florence, SD; one brother, John Hatle of Webster, SD; one step-daughter, Jan Redwing of Sisseton, SD; two step-sons, Richard Redwing of Summit, SD and Frank Redwing of Maryland. He also leaves behind his special grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and wife, Belva.
