WEBSTER – Rosella M. Wattier passed away Wednesday November 21, 2018 at Bethesda Home in Webster. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 A.M. Monday November 26, 2018 at Christ The King Catholic Church in Webster, Fr. Melvin Kuhn will preside. Burial will be at St. Otto’s Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday 5-7 P.M. closing with a 6:30 P.M. rosary service at Heritage Village Chapel in Webster. Rosella Wattier was born on August 10, 1923 in Webster, South Dakota to Adolph and Mary (Thomas) Wattier. She was baptized and confirmed at St. Otto’s Catholic Church in Webster. Rosella attended Parochial school at St. Otto’s in Webster and graduated from Webster High School in 1941. Rosella finished one semester at the Commercial College in Watertown when the country entered World War II and she then moved to Milwaukee, Wisconsin to help in the war efforts by working at an Allis-Chalmers defense plant as a turret lathe operator. In 1944 Rosella moved to Long Beach, California and worked for the Navy. She moved back to Webster in 1947 and worked various jobs before moving to Sioux Falls to work for a radio supply company and worked there until her retirement in 1992. Rosella was a member of St. Joseph Cathedral, Catholic Daughters, and the Alter Society. She loved to travel, visiting many states in the US and many countries in Europe. She is survived by: seven nieces, Joann Herr of Watertown, SD, Carol “Tootie” (Roger) Kuecker of Webster, SD, Sandy (David) Wagner of Webster, SD, Sharon (Jerry) Flannery of Elk Point, SD, Judy Gaikowski of Webster, SD, Jane (Tom) Heinz of Dakota Dunes, SD, Kathy Vogel of Webster, SD, Carolyn Wattier of Watertown, SD; four nephews, Chuck (Linda) Wattier of Elk River, AK, Ron (Della) Hinze of Showlow, AZ, Russell Hinze of Minneapolis, MN, Mike (Jeannie) Wattier of Palm Beach, CA, and many, many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, siblings, Lambert Wattier, David Wattier, Marvin Wattier, Walter Wattier, Florence Hinze, and special friend Dorothy Tolzin.
