Rosemary Nilson 94, of Webster died Tuesday April 16, 2013 at Bethesda Home in Webster. Her funeral will be at 10:30 A.M. Wednesday, April 24, 2013 at Fiksdal Funeral Chapel in Webster, Rev. Janet Miller officiating. Burial will be at Tabor Lutheran Cemetery near Webster. Visitation will be on Tuesday 5-7 P.M. and prior to services on Wednesday. Rosemary Christine Harksen was born on Thursday, August 15, 1918 to John and Hilda (Amundson) Harksen at Aberdeen, South Dakota. She was baptized and confirmed at Tabor Lutheran Church near Webster. She attended Webster school and high school. After she received her education she worked in Webster. On June 18, 1939 she was united in marriage to Harold Nilson at her parents home in Lynn Township near Webster. After their marriage the couple farmed north of Webster. Later the couple bought a farm in Bristol Township, Day County, north of Bristol where they farmed until his death in 1977. After his death she moved to Bristol where she lived until 2005 when she moved to Webster. She entered Bethesda Home in Webster in 2012. She loved sewing, quilting, baking, playing cards and watching birds. She especially loved spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Rosemary passed away on Tuesday, April 16, 2013 at Webster, South Dakota at the age of 94 years, 8 months and 1 day. Survivors include two sons, James (Gayle) Nilson of Webster, SD and Richard (Cindy) Nilson of Kitty Hawk, NC; one daughter, Diane (Craig) Steffes of Spearfish, SD; fourteen grandchildren, sixteen great grandchildren and one great great grandchild. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one son, one sister and one brother.
