Todd Storley

ROSLYN- Todd Storley, 55 of Roslyn passed away peacefully surrounded by family, on Monday, June 24, 2019 at Bethesda Home in Webster. Funeral Services will be 2:00 P.M. Monday July 1, 2019 at St. Johns Lutheran Church in Webster. Burial will be at Saron Lutheran Cemetery near Roslyn. Visitation will be Sunday 5-7 P.M. at the church closing with a 7P.M. prayer service. Todd was born June 21, 1964, at Webster, SD to Laverne and Shirley (Wik) Storley. He was baptized and confirmed at Saron Lutheran Church. He attended Roslyn Public school from K-12 grade. He traveled with a custom combine crew for two summers before he attended Lake Area Vocational School in Watertown, SD for Diesel Mechanics. He worked for Caterpillar in Rapid City for a short time before returning to the family farm where he worked with his father, Laverne and his brothers, Larry and Allen. Todd did some substitute school bus and milk delivery driving in his spare time. He served as Nutley Township supervisor until a year ago. Todd was a proud and loving father who enjoyed spending time with his daughter Ariana. Their time together was spent drawing, playing cards & board games and baking. Todd enjoyed spending time with people, travel and dancing. Many friends could share a jitterbug story or two. He was always available to help friends and neighbors when they needed something. Todd loved his John Deere tractors and his family farm, if you needed a piece of equipment, he could find it for you, he knew the market and every auction site. Any children who came to visit left with various types of candy and a smile. Todd especially loved his gummy worms. Watching Nascar races, driving the ranger around to check the fields and visit friends and neighbors, following Logan’s MMA fights and texting his many friends was how Todd enjoyed his free time. Todd had long hard battle with ALS, his symptoms started in 2007 with some hand numbness, his official diagnosis came in the fall of 2010. He fought a courageous battle with a positive attitude and a smile. He was able to be at home on the farm until December of 2018 when he moved to Bethesda. He is survived by his parents, Laverne and Shirley Storley of Eden, SD. His daughter, Ariana of Webster, his brother Larry (Jodi) of Roslyn and their children Logan, Jade and Janessa and his brother Allen (Melinda) Sioux Falls and their daughter Candice. He is preceded in death by his grandparents Clarence and Ella Storley and Olaf and Florence Wik.

I am very sorry for your loss. when your loss is so fresh, it may be difficult for you to imagine that this pain will ever go away. But in time the blessing of God's unfailing love will soften the hurt you're feeling and bring your heart the peace, comfort and hope that it needs to heal. How? Revelation 21:4 tells us that soon everything that causes us pain, including death, will be gone forever. We also have the hope of our loved ones being resurrected here on a paradise earth, as Acts 24:15, Luke 23:43  tells us. I do hope you find comfort. Though I did not know your Todd, I am touched by your loss. Please accept my sincere condolences. (JW.org).

I am very sorry for your loss. My heart goes out to you in this difficult time. One encouraging thought you might find comforting is found at John 5:28, 29. “The hour is coming in which all those in the memorial tombs will hear his voice and come out.” God gives us this beautiful hope that he will soon resurrect our dead loved ones and we can see them again on a paradise earth! I hope this promise brings you comfort as it does me.

Todd---You're still with us, in our hearts and memories. When you lived with us we shared many meals, explored many caves, covered a lot of forest looking for that elusive deer. Our friends became your friends. It was just a great time. Thank you for sharing your good nature and strength. God bless you and your family. Bob and Fran Sigdestad
