Warren M. Bingen, 92 of Andover died on Friday, October 31, 2014 at Sun Dial Manor in Bristol. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 A.M. Wednesday, November 5, 2014 at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church in Bristol, burial will be at All Saints Catholic Cemetery in Andover. Visitation will be on Tuesday 2-4 P.M. then continuing at the church in Bristol 6-8 P.M. with a 7 P.M. Wake followed by a Rosary Service. Warren was born on Tuesday, June 13, 1922 to John E. and Lillian (Blake) Bingen at Andover, South Dakota. He was baptized and confirmed at All Saints Catholic Church in Andover. He attended country school near his home and then graduated from Andover High School in 1940. After high school he worked for a local farmer and then attended Coyne Electrical School in Chicago. He returned to the area and began working for Northwestern Public Service Company in Webster. He lived in Webster during the week and then spent weekends in Andover. Warren began as a meter reader and then became supply clerk for the Webster area office. He retired on May 1, 1983 after 39 years of service and became a full time resident of Andover. Warren was a man of deep faith and was a member of All Saints Catholic Church in Andover and then St. Anthony’s Catholic Church in Bristol. He was a member of the Catholic Order of Forresters and the Knights of Columbus . He was active in the James Valley Thresher’s, serving as secretary and on the electrical committee. He was proud of all the work he did at the threshing grounds including his penmanship displayed on the chalkboard in the school house. He also was a member of the IBEW. Warren liked to “tinker” with things, enjoyed cars, cats and was an advocate of the preservation of historical buildings and was able to purchase the Waldorf Hotel in Andover and add it to the Historical Register. He also was a very charitable person giving to many charities in the area. He loved children and sponsored many over the years. Warren passed away on Friday, October 31, 2014 at Bristol, South Dakota at the age of 92 years, 4 months and 18 days. He is survived by one brother, Robert Bingen of Sioux City, IA; and many nieces and nephews including Kathi (Dewayne) Rowley and Tom Bingen both of Sioux City, IA, Dorothy (Greg) Hickman of Lyons, SD and Mike (Deb) Bingen of Sidney, MT. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, LeRoy and Irving and two sisters, Eleanor and Ruth.
